Buyer's Agent
A buyer's agent is a licensed agent who works for you, the buyer, and looks out for your interests throughout a home purchase. That means helping you search, showing homes, running the numbers on value, writing your offer, negotiating price and terms, and guiding you through inspections and closing. Because the agent represents you, they owe you loyalty, honest advice, and confidentiality about your budget and motivation. In most cases the buyer does not pay this agent directly; compensation is typically arranged through the transaction, though that is always spelled out in writing before you commit. If you are starting a search, you can work with a buyer's agent to have someone on your side from the first showing to the keys.
