Under Agreement (Pending)
Under agreement, often shown as pending, is the status of a home once the buyer and seller have signed a purchase contract but before the sale actually closes. The property is spoken for, yet the deal is not final because steps still remain, such as inspections, appraisal, loan approval, and clearing any conditions in the contract. During this stage many listings stop taking showings, though some sellers still accept backup offers in case the deal falls through. A sale can still unravel here if a contingency is not met, so under agreement is a strong signal but not a guarantee. Ownership does not transfer until closing, when documents are signed and funds change hands.
